Sharp estimates of approximation of periodic functions in Hölder spaces

چکیده
The main purpose of the paper is to study sharp estimates of approximation of periodic functions in the Hölder spaces H p for all 0 < p ≤ ∞ and 0 < α ≤ r. By using modifications of the classical moduli of smoothness, we give improvements of the direct and inverse theorems of approximation and prove the criteria for the precise order of decrease of the best approximation in these spaces. Moreover, we obtained strong converse inequalities for general methods of approximation of periodic functions in H p .

In this paper, using the Steklov function, we introduce the generalized continuity modulus and denethe class of functions Wr;kp;' in the space Lp. For this class, we prove an analog of the estimates in [1]in the space Lp.
متن کاملDirect and inverse results in Hölder norms
We present a general approach to obtain direct and inverse results for approximation in Hölder norms. This approach is used to obtain a collection of new results related with estimates of the best polynomial approximation and with the approximation by linear operators of non-periodic functions in Hölder norms. © 2005 Elsevier Inc. متن کاملA Tool for Approximation in Bivariate Periodic Sobolev Spaces
We give a characterization of Sobolev spaces of bivariate periodic functions with dominating smoothness properties in terms of Sobolev spaces of univariate functions. The mixed Sobolev norm is proved to be a uniform crossnorm. This property can be used as a powerful tool in approximation theory. x1. متن کاملSharp Jackson-type Inequalities for Approximations of Classes of Convolutions by Entire Functions of Exponential Type
In this paper, a new method is introduced for the proof of sharp Jacksontype inequalities for approximation of convolution classes of functions defined on the real line. These classes are approximated by linear operators with values in sets of entire functions of exponential type. In particular, a sharp Jackson-type inequality for the even-order derivatives of the conjugate function is proved. ...
متن کاملEssential norm estimates of generalized weighted composition operators into weighted type spaces
Weighted composition operators appear in the study of dynamical systems and also in characterizing isometries of some classes of Banach spaces. One of the most important generalizations of weighted composition operators, are generalized weighted composition operators which in special cases of their inducing functions give different types of well-known operators like: weighted composition operat...
